World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost an item's gear score up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually beneficial but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a few of your friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to let you sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. item upgrades of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets

A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. upgrade item can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. In contrast to other upgrades for items, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from rare trinkets.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. One can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they're not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other gear items that they will not be replacing soon (for instance rings or cloaks). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
